First Impressions:
I am not one of those people that use fancy expensive pens, but I was given the chance to check out the 4Sevens TI Pen and figured I would see what its all about. I had my hands on a CountyComm Embassy pen a few weeks before, so I figured I at least had that to compare it to. The 4Sevens pen is alot different than the other "tactical" pens out on the market. Most are pretty beefy, larger than a normal pen, and quite heavy. The CountyComm pen fell in that category. The 4Sevens pen however has a very slim simple light weight design to it. Really the only thing that makes it tactical are the interchangeable tips and the fact that its stronger than your average pen.

Size/Weight/Handling:
The 4Sevens pen, while much lighter than other tactical pens, is still heavier than your average pen, especially all plastic pens. But the weight gives the pen a nice feel, makes it feel very solid.
The pen is also alittle bit smaller than an average pen, and much smaller than the other tactical pens. The length is not bad at all and easily rests in your hand the way any other pen would.
The writing tip of the pen is somewhat smaller diameter than most pens. This took alittle getting used too but was ok after that. I would say it felt small, but certainly not tiny.
I would have liked to see some slight knurling on the pen for just a bit more grip, but thats personal preference. There was actually adequate grip even though the pen is all smooth.

Build Quality:
The quality and machining of the pen seems very nice. The cap press fits onto the pen with a slight snap instead of screwing on like other tactical pens. This made it much easier to use one handed.
The clip is a bead blasted finish and has alot of spring to it, but seems to spring back into place very well. There is some side to side wiggle to it though.
The pen uses a Fisher Space Pen refill which fits in the pen very well with little to no play.

Features:
The main feature of the 4Sevens TI Tactical pen are the interchangeable tips. There are currently three, the first is the included low profile glass breaker, and looks like you would expect a typical pen to look.
The second has a hole for attaching a lanyard or neck strap to. Its a nice large hole so you can use something even alittle bit thicker than paracord. The machining on the lanyard attachment was nice, but there was a slight edge to the hole. Nothing I see cutting into cord, but it could have been smoother. I would have liked to see an option to put this tip on the cap end though. So that you could wear it around your neck and simply pull the pen out of the cap to use it, leaving the cap on the lanyard around your neck.
The third is a spiked hollowed out tip. Nicknamed the DNA collector. Which is a fitting name, I am sure you would be collecting a bit of skin and blood if you were to stab at someone with it.

Pros:
Small Slim Design
Large enough to comfortably write with
Less weight than other tactical pens
Able to blend into business attire

Cons:
Less grip than knurled tactical pens
Cap cannot to places on tail end
Clip has some side to side play

Conclusion:
The 4Sevens TI Pen is a nice alternative to the larger heavier tactical pens out there. Many of those are quite tactical, but would not be the best pens for daily use. The 4Sevens pen is a sleeker design that would feel at home in the office as you sit in your business suit at the conference table.
